Annual international RadioAsia2010 conference will be held for the first time in India from the 22nd to 24th February 2010 with the underlying theme, Journey to the Digital Land: Addressing Diverse Radio Audiences and Markets. This event is organized annually by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, Asian Media Information & Communications Centre, and Singapore Exhibition Service.
Being the only international radio programming of its kind in the region, it has drawn the attention of major radio broadcasters and other industry players across the world to share their experiences and expertise. This year, there are over 40 speakers ready to share their perspectives in various aspects of radio and communication.
Some of the eminent speakers include Ms Elizabeth Smith, Secretary General, Commonwealth Broadcasting Association, UK, Ms Ruxandra Obreja, Chairperson, DRM Consortium, London; Ms Joan Warner, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Radio Australia, Mr Parni Hadi, President Director, RRI, Indonesia, Mr Mark Bunting, Head of Strategy, BBC Global News Division, Mr Simon Spanswick, Secretary General, AIB, London. Indian media industry is represented through several eminent broadcasters.
The event comprises of a half-day of workshops followed by a two and a half day conference where leading radio experts will deliver papers and presentations. Conference sessions themes such as Digital Radio Services and Innovation in Content, How we became ‘Top of the Market’, Commercial FM Radio in New Markets, Community Radio Revolution in India, Focus on Indian Radio Industry: Reshaping Radio Broadcasting Environment and International Radio and Public Service.
A session will be devoted to Green Radio and another to an industry debate. Radio professionals are invited to participate and share their experiences.
